Am in Gran Canaria til 11th May.
Today I educated a couple of guys about the Frenchman with the phone up his bottom, the guy who died whilst on the job with a rent boy and the guy who got a priapism after using 100mg of Viagra he bought here. Yes there’s always something to report when you goto Gran Canaria.
My h-index has hit 24 – yay! Meanwhile I shall be flying out to Gran Canaria for 2 weeks on thursday…..French air traffic controllers permitting! :-/
Had a nice 4 days in Singapore and the flight on to LHR was par for the course – except for me not getting exit row like I usually do 🙁
Now settled into the family home. Two months of R&R and seeing friends. All very relaxing.
Just a reminder that from tomorrow (5th June) I shall be in Europe (mostly) for 3 months.
I shall be based with my parents in Nottingham assessing whether they really should be staying in their big family house, given the health issues of my mum….and I’ll also be having a holiday in Spain with friends, and seeing a whole load of other friends I rarely get to see properly.
I will not be working in any capacity for the remainder of June and any of July – only job application follow-up will be dealt with. I have a house-sitter here for any snail mail that goes to my Sydney home!
I return to light-load work at the start of August and I will be spending a week in the Netherlands working with some potential colleagues on some data analysis. Then I return to Sydney on 4th September.
I’ll keep at least half an eye on twitter and will continue to blog, but it may be a bit random. Ciao!
The first draft of the entire best-worst scaling book is finished! I’m now making some edits requested by co-authors but it is basically there 🙂
Am also finishing up on some papers I am co-authoring this week and writing a couple of abstracts for a conference.
By the end of the month I should be in a position to sign off work-wise for a couple of months (as I wanted), take holidays in Europe, see family and friends etc.
